In the 15 years since its founding, URI has developed and piloted a new approach to building diverse and cohesive communities, while engaging the causes of conflict and injustice that have plagued the global community.
With projects and programs taking place in hundreds of communities in 92 countries, the United Religions Initiative is the largest interfaith organization in the world.
URI is not a religion. We are a global network of interfaith groups, each made of members from multiple religious traditions, that seek to better their communities through interfaith cooperation.
URI brings people of different faiths and cultures together to work on issues that improve their community. We combine interreligious bridgebuilding with community-based actions that address causes of conflict like poverty, violence against women, or barriers to education and resources. These actions help reduce conflict and create conditions necessary for achieving sustainable peace.
