For BZN, 2009 was a fruitful, exciting, but not easy year since the international crisis was part of our daily reality. We celebrated our 50th anniversary with a National Values Assessment online, and we will organize ‘Talks on the Market’ in cooperation with 10 major cities in the country and supported by different partners specialized in process building and digital communication. BZN Metanoia, a center for silence and meditation, was finally accepted by the government. BZN Atlas wrote an important book about child abuse and domestic violence and won different prizes. BZN realized an important new style of cooperation between the city’s major charity organizations in order to better serve different core groups that are focusing on poor people. Also, with the ‘Flemish Partnership for Interfaith Dialogue’ we started a reflection group in the country’s most diverse city (cf. Heusden Zolder) in order to see whether we can offer people facing the increasing need for intercultural and interreligious dialogue a better life.
