Newly elected Bishop of Sialkot (Church of Pakistan) Rt. Rev. Alwin Samuel Visit to PCSW&HR Office

Newly elected Bishop of Sialkot (Church of Pakistan) Rt. Rev. Alwin Samuel paid a courtesy visit to the office of Pakistan Council for Social Welfare & Human Rights (PCSW&HR) and held a meeting with Chairman PCSW&HR Mr. Muhammad Ijaz Noori. Father Asher Gill, Mr. Emmanual Gill, Samuel Khokhar, Father Sumbel Shehzad and Emmanuel Babar also accompanied the Bishop of Sialkot, whereas Executive Director PCSW&HR Mr. Mansoor Ahmed, Mr. Rizwan Khan, Mr. Awais Khan, Mr. Muhammad Hanif Janjua were also present during the visit to the Christian delegation to the PCSW&HR Office. While talking with Chairman PCSW&HR, Bishop of Sialkot said that terrorism & extremism are not only matters for any religion or any country; they are a challenge for humanity.

Therefore to link terrorism & extremism with any religion or country will be equal to boost this, because as per the teachings of all spiritual religions, especially Islam and Christianity, there is no accommodation of any kind of terrorism and extremism. Both religions urge the respect of humanity. Therefore, it is the responsibility of followers of both religions to jointly meet the challenge of terrorism and extremism so that sustainable development may be ensured.

He further said that Pakistan is the beloved homeland all of us and we have to jointly work for the respectable recognition of Pakistan at a global level. Bishop of Sialkot lauded the efforts of Pakistan Council for Social Welfare & Human Rights for the promotion of interfaith harmony, protection of minorities’ rights, human rights, child rights, women rights etc. He also urged for the strengthen of mutual relations for promotion of interfaith harmony and sustainable development.

While talking with the Bishop of Sialkot Rt. Rev. Alwin Samuel, Chairman PCSW&HR Mr. Muhammad Ijaz Noori said that discrimination in the division of political, social and economic civic facilities on the basis of religion, majority and minority is not  only against the constitution of Pakistan but also against the teachings of Islam. Whole Pakistani nation is united against the terrorism & extremism. He further said that peace at global level and sustainable development can only ensure due to protection of fundamental human rights and real democracy. He also ensured the Bishop of Sialkot that for the promotion of interfaith harmony, protection of human rights, minority rights etc. PCSW&HR will work with the Diocese of Sialkot. An official shield was also presented to Bishop of Sialkot during his visit to PCSW&HR Office.
