Peace March and Birthday Celebration Asansol, West Bengal, India, September 21 Ektaan CC is hosting a peace march starting at 5:00 PM from URI Office near Chitra Cinema, Asansol and ending at Rabindra Bhawan to meet with leaders from different spiritual traditions and social and administrative officials. The event will present the UN peace proclamation and the work of URI, followed by a cultural event to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Nobel Prize-winning Bengali, poet Biswa Kabi Rabindranath Tagore.
URI Pakistan IDP Celebration Lahore, Pakistan, September 21 URI Pakistan celebrated IDP through a program which included an interfaith prayer for peace and flood victims, presentations by children, youth and women, the lighting of peace candle, and a festival dinner.

Stories of Resilience and Inspiration Banana Factory, Bethlehem, PA, September 19 URI UN: From Kyrgyzstan to Bethlehem, youth are doing wonderful and inspirational projects to promote peace in their lives and in their communities. Three young people and a youth group will share their projects and stories followed by audience participation. This program is the first in a series of four programs, and highlights the International Year of Youth and the International Day of Peace. Dorothy Maver, President of the National Peace Academy, will moderate the discussion. Special music by Jackie Tice and Robbi Kumalo.
Ambassador of Peace Buenos Aires, Argentina, September 17 Francisco Morales,URI Youth Ambassador and founder of the Comunidad Cósmica CC will receive an Ambassador of Peace award at an IDP event sponsored by the Argentine Senate's Culture Department, Mil Milenios de Paz and others.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon Rings Peace Bell United Nations, September 17 United Religions Initiative at the United Nations CC members were present as IDP opened with the ringing of the peace bell and a message from the Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, who this year spoke to youth, inviting them to participate in the International Year of Youth. Two hundred youth carried flags of the member states as part of the event.
Bridge Builders Buenos Aires, Argentina, Month of September Escuela de Amor CC is visiting five schools around Buenos Aires to talk with children about peace and interfaith cooperation.
Indigenous Tinku (Meeting) for Peace Buenos Aires, Argentina, September 20-21 Comunidad Cósmica CC: Comunidad Cosmica CC will be participating in an peace rally with indigenous and other organizations in the Plaza de los dos Congresos in front of Argentina’s National Congress.
IDP in Palestine Al-Rowwad Theatre, Aida Refugee Camp, Bethlehem, Palestine September 21 United for Palestine CC is co-hosting and IDP celebration.
URI 2010 World Peace Poetry Festival Kenya World Hope Center, Nairobi Kenya September 26 World Hope Poets, a URI affiliate, is celebrating IDP with its second annual URI World Peace Poetry Festival. 1000 people are expected to attend, including school and youth groups and award-winning poets. URI Regional Coordinator for Africa Mussie Hailu will join the event, as will URI Global Trustee Rattan Channa.

Week of Global Interreligious Dialogue: Replenish the Earth September 15-21, 2010 Global Family for Love and Peace CC is co-sponsoring this an annual event, which co-invites people around the world to gather together to raise awareness of the interfaith community and the work we are doing around the world.

A Million Minutes for Peace September 21 Odyssey Networks invites people around the world to join in a global prayer for peace at noon on September 21.
Culture of Peace Initiative's Peace Day Global Broadcast September 21 The Peace Day Global Broadcast begins September 17 with the ringing of the peace bell from UN Headquarters by the Secretary General, and continues through September 21, the official International Day of Peace. The Broadcast will stream Peace Day celebrations live on multiple Internet channels as they unfold around the planet.
Peace Week: A Global Telesummit for Building a Culture of Peace September 14-21 The Shift Network and The Peace Alliance are holding a free, virtual peace summit featuring over 50 inspiring peacebuilders, including members of the Jerusalem Peacemakers CC in a session on "Stories of Hope from the Holy Land," September 16 from 10-11:30am Pacific Time.
Earthdance 2010 September 18 An annual global synchronized dance for peace organized by Earthdance International. URI Youth Ambassador Ishilta helped organize Earthdance Manila in Manila, Philippines.
WE: 11 Days of Global Unity September 11-21 An annual worldwide promotion of peace, justice, sustainability and transformation that now includes as many as 700 associated events in over 60 countries around the world.
