Environmental Seed Grants Project launched on 10/10/10

5 October 2010

The Environmental Satellite of the URI President’s Council joined millions of people in a Global Work Party for climate solutions on “10/10/10” (see http://www.350.org/). The Satellite initiated an environmental seed grants project to support cooperation circles in creating “cultures of peace, justice, and healing for the Earth and all living beings.”

This project is made possible through the generosity of two individuals in the URI community in San Francisco, California, who have made a donation to promote URI's involvement in environmental protection.

The seed grants will place special emphasis on supporting activities that address climate change, either in reducing the causes of climate change or adapting to its effects, and on activities that preserve the diversity and abundance of life on Earth.

Visit the environmental page of the website to find out about the four types of grants that will be offered and learn how to apply!
