United Religions Initiative Cooperation Circle Coexister (URI Europe) was featured on National Public Radio (NPR) on July 2, 2015. The story highlights the uneasy attitudes towards religion in France, especially since the Charlie Hebdo attacks, and the prevalence of harmful religious stereotyping. Coexister is helping break down those harmful stereotypes. A youth-led Cooperation Circle, Coexister’s goal is to “inspire individuals and organizations not to engage in evangelism, discrimination, and proselytization.” The radio broadcast follows youths who have chosen to affiliate themselves with the group to promote peaceful interfaith coexistence in French schools.
