In honor of the United Nations International Day of Peace 2015, the Alliance for Conflict Transformation (ACT), with members from Interfaith Peace Building on Natural Resources Management CC, planted trees in Traneam Pech village, Kok Banteay commune, Rolea Pbear district, and Kampong Chhnang province, Cambodia. In communities threatened by religious tension as well as deforestation, the activity drew attention to the importance of natural resources management and the role of environmental protection in promoting peace.

Through planting trees together to benefit the community as a whole, ties were strengthened between community authorities and residents, and especially between people of different faiths living side by side within communities. The event brought together a diverse group of participants including village chiefs, commune representatives, the Chief of Community Forestry, teachers, monks, youth, police, children, and religious leaders, among others.
