URI Founder and Executive Director Honored for Humanitarian Work

On Tuesday, August 29 at 7:00 pm, Salem Daoud, Yezidi Mir (head Yezidi religious leader for the U.S. and Canada) will address a sold-out crowd at Peninsula Sinai Congregation in Foster City, CA regarding the plight of his people and hope for the future.

Following Mr. Daoud’s remarks, the Beyond Genocide Campaign will present Humanitarian Hero Awards to the following religious leaders for their role in the Beyond Genocide Campaign and related efforts:

• Rev. Victor Kazanjian, Jr., Executive Director, United Religions Initiative with over 883 Cooperation Circles in 102 countries around the globe.

• Bishop William E. Swing (in absentia), founder and President, United Religions Initiative with over 883 Cooperation Circles in 102 countries around the globe.

• Rabbi Marvin Goodman, Executive Director (retired), Board of Rabbis of Northern California; Rabbi-in-Residence (retired), Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties; Administrator, Beyond Genocide Yezidi Campaign.

• Fatih Ates, Executive Director, Pacifica Institute of San Francisco and the East Bay; board member, San Francisco Interfaith Council
