URI’s member groups are committed to changing the world by bringing people together to work on a humanitarian cause. Founded in 2000, URI is the largest grassroots interfaith network in the world: building bridges of compassion and understanding between people of different religious and cultural traditions.

URI is a non-governmental organization with consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, and has long-standing partnerships with several other UN agencies.
