The purpose of the United Religions of Charlotte CC is to learn effective methods of cultural cooperation, to honor and appreciate the religious traditions of all, and to demonstrate values of tolerance and fairness. It also purposes to promote peace and understanding through developing trust relationships, education, and advocacy.
In honor of URI's 10th Anniversary, this CC is excited to have Canon Charles Gibbs visit us on September 21 to celebrate the International Day of Peace. Plans are underway to involve nearby CCs, and to make this their strongest IDP yet. Other plans around this event may involve the media, and possibly a 350.org work project.
