URI Pakistan | URI Korea | Asia Region

As floods raged through Pakistan this summer, Father James Channan, URI’s Regional Coordinator for Pakistan, reported on the devastation on the ground and asked the URI global community for its prayers and support. Ven. Dr. Jinwol Lee, URI Trustee and Regional Coordinator for Korea answered the call. His Buddhist Order, the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, made a gift of $50,000 to Pakistani relief efforts. Raised as a monk and author of several books, Ven. Lee has worked tirelessly for inter-religious harmony in Korea, and for the past five years has organized youth camps bringing Korean and international youth together to build ties of friendship and cross-cultural understanding.
