I am so happy to let you know that our IDP celebration this year was a grand success, with hundreds of children and youth marching through the streets with slogans and placards against war and weapons. The program was conducted jointly by many voluntary organizations, like Balajana Sakhyam, Mar Thoma Centre for Dialogue, Y.M.C.A and so on. Members from various CCs participated.
There was a music concert after the rally. Our Odanavattom CC members presented a program, “Music for Harmony,” which was very well received. This was followed by a love feast.
A sramadan program was conducted in the afternoon and all students and volunteers went around cleaning the roads and nearby places. IDP has become an integral component in this locality that people were waiting with drinks and snacks to receive the peace marchers. It was so heartening that we could bring this message of peace to the grassroots.
