Report of Extraordinary Urgent Meeting of Executive Committee of Pakistan Council for Human Rights to Condemn the Murder of Shahbaz Bhatti Federal Minister for Minority Affairs Govt. of Pakistan and Chairman Minority Alliance

An extraordinary and urgent Meeting of Executive Committee of Pakistan Council for Social Welfare & Human Rights held under the chair of Muhammad Ijaz Noori Chairman. Executive Directors Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Qadri, Mansoor Ahmed, Shakeel Younis, Muhammad Ramzan Mustafie and others members of executive committee participated in the meeting.  In the meeting great concerns were shown over the murder of Mr. Shahbaz Bhatti Federal Minister for Minority Affairs Govt. of Pakistan and Chairman of Minority Alliance in Pakistan. While addressing the meeting Mr. Ijaz Noori said that murder of federal minister is purely security laps. He attributed the efforts of Shahbaz Bhatti for the promotion of Inter religious dialogues, harmony and human rights. He strongly condemned the murder of Minister for Minorities Affairs Shahbaz Bhatti and vowed that such acts would not deter the moral of brave Pakistani Nation and determination of Government from eliminating extremism and terrorism. He condemned what he termed as a “heinous act” and said that that Pakistani Nation and team of Pakistan Council for Social Welfare & Human Rights would continue to stand firm in its stance and would not bow to the extremists and terrorists. He further said that murder of Shahbaz Bhatti is conspiracy to spoil the image of Pakistan. Christian community has lost by their brave leader and whole Pakistani Nation condemns the murder of Shahbaz Bhatti and at that curtails time of vow and grief is with Christian community.

 The meeting also demanded to the Government that high level inquiry may be held to probe in the matter to reach the actual facts and root causes of the murder of Shahbaz Bhatti and responsible should bring in to the court of justice. The meeting also stressed on the spirit of interfaith harmony and understanding on the issue to fail the shameful resolves of the extremists and terrorists. The meeting also expressed their full solidarity with the minorities particularly with the Christian community on this tragic incident.  The meeting also demanded to Government to take necessary constructive and result oriented measures to compact the extremism and terrorism in Pakistan?? to prevail the peace in the country.
