A Walk for the Environment

26 February 2013

The Heal the Atmosphere Association, Trail of Dreams World Peace Walkers and the Quantum Leap Transformational Center are organizing the Out of Washington Comes Respect Walk for Mother Earth. This is a 1,300 mile walk from the Washington Monument in Washington, DC, on March 1, 2013 ending in Shanti Villa, in Tuskegee, Alabama on April 13, 2013.

The actual walk route will encompass Washington, DC; Alexandria, Bowling Green, Richmond, Hampton, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, VA; Durham, Charlotte, Asheville, NC; Greenville, SC; Auburn,; Atlanta, GA; Montgomery and Tuskegee, AL. Walkers are from diverse cultures, ancestry, genders, and faiths.

Organizers of the walk invite community organizations to host the walk by providing sleeping and eating accommodations for the night (s) that the walkers are passing through the community. We also seek speaking engagements and community sharing opportunities to share information about the walk; environmental best practices and techniques for healing the atmosphere.

Heal the Atmosphere Association is an environmental organization that has offered “green education” for over a decade. During this time it has mobilized young people to form “green teams” to educate and engage communities in healing the environment and incorporating “green” practices to create healthy communities and to counter pollution.

Audri Scott Williams, Karen Hunter Watson and Tony Shina of the Trail of Dreams World Peace Walk and the Quantum Leap Transformational Center, are global walkers for peace and healing in our communities across this nation and around the world. Having walked on six continents, they bring a unique perspective of the environment and community building to the walk.
