Dear Bishop Swing, Rev. Charles, Ms. Debra, Ms. Sally and all others,

I am sharing this email with you which I have just sent to URI Africa Coordinator Mussie Hailu for giving the Golden Rule Medal to Irfan Ali. Thank you very much for all your prayers and condolences offered at the tragic death of our dear Irfan Ali.

May his soul rest in peace!

 ===================

Dear Mussie,

Greetings of peace!

I would like to inform you, with deep appreciation and gratitude, that the Golden Rule Medal which you had sent for our late Irfan Ali in recognition of his tremendous service in promoting interfaith dialogue, peace and harmony was presented to his cousin and close friend,  Mr. Ali Babi Taj, on the 25th of February, 2013 at the Peace Center, Lahore.

The entire  URI  Regional Staff Pakistan -- Father James Channan, OP, Regional Coordinator; Sister Sabina Rifat, URI Women’s Wing Coordinator; and Yuel Bhatti, Executive Secretary -- were present at this occasion. Father Marcus Daniel, OP, House Superior and eight Dominican students were also present to witness this ceremony of paying tribute to our dear Irfan Ali.

Father James paid rich tribute  to all the services of Irfan Ali as URI Youth Trainer and how he had made such a significant impact in Pakistan by meeting hundreds of people, professors and students at various universities throughout the country.

Mr. Ali Baba Taj was present and an eyewitness  at the tragic incident when Irfan Ali was killed in a bomb blast. Ali Baba was also injured, but not seriously. He was the one who recognized the badly damaged dead body of Irfan Ali by recognizing his curly hair.

Ali Babi expressed his gratitude for this recognition of the services of Irfan Ali at the international level. He will hand over this Golden Medal and the accompanying Golden Rule playing cards to the mother and wife of Irfan Ali.

All emails containing condolence messages from his URI family all around the world  were also presented to the wife and mother of Irfan Ali.

May Peace Prevail On Earth!

May Peace Prevail in Pakistan!

With regards and gratitude,

Father James Channan, OP

URI Regional Coordinator Pakistan
