Dear Friends,

Namaste and greetings of peace! Our tribal community has been working the last two days with our tribal team as part of the "indigenous wisdom" for conflict resolutions. Our newly established center will be highly enriched in a way, I name it "wisdom bank," to hold us grounded with our deeply rooted cultures, bridging differences guided by knowledge. In this new quest, we talked on how social movements bridge religious differences.

As many of you know, indigenous peoples have been threatened for centuries due to the development encroaches on their lands and traditions. Wisdom keepers are merely shining. Indigenous knowledge disappears because of their distance from motherland. Young generations are not finding those practices relevant due to this modern, seductive life. This is a global scenario, thus URI created a platform of "indigenous initiative."

As a bridge building organization, URI envisions a world at peace, sustained by engaged and interconnected communities committed to respect for diversity, nonviolent resolution of conflict and social, political, economic and environmental justice.

URI eastern India team is working to involve collective mobilization and interfaith social actions to bring about changes in the social system, promoting interrelated activities of peace building.

Anyway dear friends, it’s a vast subject in India to talk about, but we are getting stronger with our voices and marching a non violent movement to bring about a change in our social system specially an interfaith approach guided by deeper knowledge from elders and carried by the younger.

I remember a line from my early composition...

"Heaven we have built, on the sovereign soil
In this pilgrimage of congregation, building the bridges of friendship"

May Peace Prevail,

Biswadeb
