For International Day of Peace, URI Cooperation Circles in Bulgaria, together with the international project “Jorsala – a path of dialogue beyond our differences,” gathered together in the city of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Jorsala is a joint projected supported by the Council of Europe, Anna Lindth Foundation and Rotary Club International.
The Jorsala Peace Walk follows a path across Europe and creates spaces to bridge cultural, religious, political and ethnical differences. It is an invitation for people to join together from Brussels to Istanbul, from the capital of Europe, along fracture lines in the Balkans, to the gates of the East.
A retired catholic priest, a social worker and a philosopher were among the diverse participants of this peace walk. They are planning to be in Istanbul on October 16th where Rosen Dimov, URI Youth Ambassador from Bulgaria, will welcome them.
“BRIDGES CC – Eastern European Forum for Dialogue” was a partner and a host from the Bulgarian part for the joint events in Plovdiv.
