A good mood is catching.

We’re always glad to see them.

We look forward to their visit. They come in and the atmosphere changes. You cannot put your finger on it, but they have something magical. They have the capacity to bring the sun into the house – also when everything looks gloomy. In one way or another they possess a rare skill.

The art of living.

The boy who always drives through town whistling, not knowing what stress means. The postman who always has time for a chat. The crisismanager who keeps his calm, day after day. And yes, also the woman who had to give up husband and child and yet stands up again and is… radiant.

We should not be silly. They also have a bad day now and again. But they possess the secret to remain optimistic. To see the glass as half full.

What do they have that is different?

They have discovered a few keys that help them to cope with life. They certainly do not deny its reality. On the contrary. They cope with pain and sadness. But they do not moan and complain. They understand that grumbling doesn’t help at all. They want to go forward. They possess a strength that does not allow them to be down in the dumps. Time and time again they bring out the sun from behind the clouds. In everybody’s life, because they know that you too don’t always have an easy time.

Do we have to repeat that these people are valuable?

It is usually people with their heart in the right place. They will do anything for others. They are often able to listen and give the correct advice. They pay attention to what is good and beautiful in people. What goes wrong was probably not intended that way. Let’s cherish them, because they are a good antidote in a society turned sour. Because their mood is catching. And did you know that ‘being happy’ can be acquired?
