For the 16th year, URI of Henderson County NC Cooperation Circle gathered for the Interfaith Service for Peace. This year, the service will focus specifically on forgiveness with guest speaker Lyndon Harris, co-founder of the Gardens of Forgiveness Initiative.

Gary Prichard, the group's treasurer, said the recent acts of terror in France and California have piqued people's interests in different faiths.

"The power of forgiveness is something we all need to remember given the climate these days," he said. "It's important to remember that in every religion, most are peace-loving people," he told BlueRidgeNow.com.

The event included a storytelling, music, dialogue, reading from sacred texts and a reception. You can read more about the event, which was featured on the news site BlueRidgeNow.com, at this link. The service took place at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 900 Blythe Street, Hendersonville, NC.
