In response to the Easter terrorist attack*, URI Pakistan and Peace Center Lahore organized an interfaith memorial service, bringing together over 100 Muslim, Christian, and Hindu religious leaders, Ulama, priests, pastors, nuns, human rights activists, political leaders, social workers, promoters of interfaith dialogue, and youth. “All had gathered for one purpose, to pray and express solidarity with the relatives of those who had lost their dear ones in the barbaric attack on innocent Christian and Muslim citizens of Pakistan. And to pray for the recovery of those who had been injured, some seriously. And to pray for a peaceful Pakistan. All vowed not to be afraid and thus keep on working tirelessly for the promotion of human values, peace and acceptance of one another.”

The URI community gathers in the face of these global tragedies to send prayers, love, sympathy, and support to our brothers and sisters in Pakistan, and to condemn acts of violence worldwide. Read our messages here.

*On Easter Sunday, a terrorist bombing attack struck an amusement park in Lahore, Pakistan, where many families and children congregated. The attack targeted the Christian minority, killing 76 people (including 29 children) and injuring 350.
