Trust Women’s Interfaith Network (Trust WIN), a URI Cooperation Circle in Jerusalem, organizes peace walks and other activities to build trust and understanding between Israeli and Palestinian women. This walk commemorated Holocaust Day, Israeli Memorial Day, Land Day, and Nakba Day, attended by over 50 Christian, Druze, Jewish, and Muslim women, ranging in age from six months old to 75 years.

Resetting the dialogue by connecting as women first has allowed members to learn about each other’s religions through a different lens, as mothers, daughters, passionate chefs, and good singers. In times of conflict, it is easy to see things as “us” and “them”, making it more important to find spaces for peaceful dialogue and collaborative conflict prevention. More than policy, the path to peace starts with someone crossing perceived barriers, holding out their hand, and proposing a walk.
