The United Religions Initiative is partnering with Unify, the Shift Network, and others in celebration of World Yoga Day, taking place on June 21st, 2016. At sunset on that day, we hope you will join us and thousands of other yogis in a global synchronized yoga experience in over 500 locations around the world.

“Yoga” in Sanskrit means “to unify”, developed in India as a way to align our mind, body, and consciousness with our prana, the electromagnetic pulse that energizes life. As a non-denominational, centering act, it is a way for us to find time to reflect on ourselves and the world around us for inner and outer peace.

I am delighted to invite you to participate in the World Yoga Day celebrations on the 21st June. This will be a day of connection, celebration, and action. Yoga transcends all boundaries of religion, color, and creed. Yoga is a truly spiritual discipline which helps to promote good health and wellbeing. As a technique for transforming the body, and mind, Yoga can contribute to peace, love, and light for all. Last year the entire globe unified for the first time ever in honor of this ancient system of health and wellbeing. This year, millions of yogis from around the planet will unify at sunset in their cities on June 21st for yoga and meditation.
