Despite the challenges presented by the recession of the Nigerian economy in 2016, our Cooperation Circle was able to reach nearly 6,000 young people across Nigeria with our programs. In the coming year, we are determined to reach even more young people to continue our bid to fight crime through a preventive approach.

A testimonial from Ifeanyi Enoch Onuaha, from Abia State, who benefitted from our program:

As a young man living South Eastern Nigeria, I have seen crimes perpetrated in different forms and drug abuse in different levels, but I couldnt do much until I came in contact with African Youth Initiative on Crime Prevention (AYICRIP), an NGO that is truly repositioning the mindset of young people, led by Mr Christogonus C. Ibe.

AYICRIP gave me the training and empowerment which is helping me today as I go to schools, churches and communities, speaking to youths on the dangers of drugs and criminal lifestyle.

Based on my training during the 2016 National Youth Summit on Drugs and Substance Abuse Prevention in Abuja, I have started my advocacy against drugs and substance abuse among young people in Aba by going to schools churches and communities to speak on the dangers of kidnapping, cybercrime, human trafficking, armed robbery, militancy and cultism.

I am indeed grateful to AYICRIP for making me a better person who can add value to the lives of other youths and based on my activities, I am now coordinating AYICRIP Programmes in South Eastern Nigeria.
