Kiran Bali MBE JP shares these notes from her address at “The Responsibility of Muslims in Great Britain” conference held in Huddersfield, United Kingdom.

It was an honour to be invited to speak at this important community event.

The local Imams brought people of all faiths together to be involved in this important discussion.

The talk included these key points:

    • Faith leaders have the power to inspire and educate thousands of people.
    • The Imams have shown true leadership, working together with all faiths towards a more peaceful society. An attack on any religion is an attack on all religions as we share the values of peace and mutual respect.
    • All religious communities must stand side-by-side with the Muslim community; even more so during these turbulent times.
    • Through our collective responsibility, we must challenge the hatred and discrimination that is so rife in our society today.
