Multi-Faith South Australia Climate Petition

For the people of low-lying island nations such as Tuvalu sea level rise, as well as increasingly intense storm surges and cyclones that come with climate change, threatens people's livelihoods and lives, and even the existence of entire communities and countries (Source).

On September 6, the Multi-Faith Association of South Australia led an interfaith dialogue and media event. The event was a culmination of a faith-led Community Climate Petition.

The petition was signed by over 25,000 Australians from 92 Federal electorates and driven by people of diverse faiths - including Buddhists, Hindus, Sikhs, Jews, Christians, Muslims, and Brahma Kumaris.

It calls for urgent reductions to Australia's greenhouse gas emissions and for more support for vulnerable communities in the region.
