Mumbai residents at health camp

Beyond SARHAD CC from Western India arranged a Health Camp in collaboration with the Municipal Corporation of Mumbai (the local health department) in Goregaon West in the Bhagatasingh Nagar Slum community. Nearly 300 people, adults and children, visited for this health camp. By request of the CC, the health department participated in the camp. They demonstrated to people about malaria, other viral fevers which are spread by mosquitoes, and water born diseases. These are spread by stagnant water in the area resulting from rain water and waste water. They explain how to prevent these diseases by taking precautions. The community members highly appreciated it, and in the future the health department will approach the URI CC for other health camps and work.
