Last Saturday, January 11, 2020 in Talcahuano (a commune and city in Concepción, Chile), members of the CREE Cooperation Circle (a member group of URI) celebrated an “ecological day” in the Laguna Hermosa or Macera.
This day consisted of cleaning the edge of the ravine and planting native trees in order to preserve and save the life of the lagoon water. About 20 adults and five children participated. Through the act of cleaning the beautiful natural surroundings, the participants were taught the value of respecting and caring for the environment.
