WEDO Sells Masks for Cultural Harmony in Hong Kong

Under the pandemic, WEDO GLOBAL (a URI member group in Hong Kong) and South Asian Sewing Ambassadors are co-creating culturally vibrant mask covers. "Through this We Mask Action, we would like to connect people in Hong Kong from diverse ethnic backgrounds and build a culturally diverse and socially inclusive society," they write in their Instagram post.

"Together, Chinese and Ethnic Minorities could contribute to the Hong Kong society and bring love and care to every corner in the community." - WEDO GLOBAL

They aim to distribute 4,000 free mask covers to grassroots ethnic minority families and the elderly, with proceeds from other mask cover sales going to the charitable purposes. "We hope to strengthen the awareness of personal hygiene and health protection among ethnic minority communities, and at the same time promoting cultural diversity and social inclusion in Hong Kong," they write.
