Youth Day 2024

As we observe International Youth Day on August 12, 2024, we are reminded of the immense contributions that young people continue to make in shaping our world. This year's theme, "From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development," underscores the transformative power of digital technology in advancing the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.

Today's youth are digital natives, leveraging technology not only as a tool but as a pathway to create sustainable solutions across various sectors.

From tech-driven entrepreneurship and digital activism to online learning and social inclusion, young people are at the forefront of driving change in innovative and impactful ways.

Last year, I was honored to participate in the International Youth Day 2023 celebrations at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The experience was enlightening, as I witnessed firsthand how youth from different parts of the world are using digital platforms to address critical issues such as climate change, human rights, and social justice.

The discussions and collaborations that took place were a testament to the energy and creativity that young people bring to the table, particularly in harnessing digital tools to create a more sustainable and equitable future. URI's dedication to fostering young talent as CC members, Individual members, Interns, Volunteers, Staff & Trustees ensures that we remain at the cutting edge of innovation and continue to inspire positive change around the world.

I am fortunate to work closely with the talented young people within URI, an organization that truly values and empowers youth. As the youngest Global Council Trustee at URI, I have experienced firsthand the organization's commitment to nurturing young leaders and providing them with the resources and opportunities to make a difference.

As we celebrate this day, let us continue to support and empower the youth within our communities. By doing so, we not only invest in their futures but also in the future of our world. Let us encourage them to take full advantage of digital pathways to drive progress and create positive change.

Once again I express my heartfelt gratitude for your continued dedication to nurturing the next generation of leaders. May peace prevail on Mother Earth!
