Moderated by - Ms Nkechika Ibe, founder and director, of Impact Her World Foundation and Chair of Women in Security Peace and Diplomacy Network (WISPAD)
With the support of the URI Global Youth and Learning Coordinator, Sarah Oliver, and the Individual Membership Coordinator, Lejla Hasandedic-Dapo, Impact Her World Foundation through the Women in Security Peace and Diplomacy Network (WISPAD), successfully hosted the webinar titled 'Implementing Women, Peace, and Security Agenda: Why it Matters'.
The webinar was a response to the need to educate participants on the relevance of advancing the WPS agenda across different contexts, especially amidst global conflict and insecurity. The WPS agenda, through its domestication by countries leveraging the National Action Plan (NAP) promotes women's inclusion in peacebuilding and peace processes as well as amplifies the voices of women in the security sector while mainstreaming gender in this field.
With Speakers drawn from different nationalities and organisation, and more than 50 participants, the interaction and presentation by the very esteemed speakers provided a huge resource for all participants. The speakers includes; Katrina Leclerc, Chair Women, Peace and Security Network - Canada; Peter Mancha - Program Manager, UN Women Nigeria and Madam Grace Awodu - Head, Gender, Peace and Security - Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR)
A huge thank you to the URI Individual Member family for the publicity and support before, during and after the webinar.
