New Year message from Eric Roux, URI Global Council Chair
Dear Sisters and Brothers,
We are now entering the Year 2025 and I wish you the best year you ever had, full of success in our common mission for the best of all living beings and the Earth. May 2025 be blessed for you and yours, and for your URI mission.
Every minute of every day, somewhere on Earth, one or several of ours from URI are changing the world, either by a small or a huge action. When one of us go to sleep, another one wakes up, and the circle never ends. By being connected, beyond and through our differences, whether they are cultural, religious, spiritual or else, we realize the dream of all good dreamers of history: a marching movement of people of peace, who know that love can accept differences, and prove that intelligence can and must support the good.
By working together without any pause all around the world, focused on what unites us and the hell with what divides, we are setting the right example and prove that religiously motivated hate, violence and war are not a fatality, far from it. That’s how we create a culture of peace, justice and healing for the Earth and all living beings.
Never minimize our power. We are changing the world. You are changing the world. Not alone. Not enough, maybe. Not fast enough, for sure. But still, we should never minimize the impact of the good deeds and the powerful actions we all drive.
In 2025, we want to increase our impact and bring it to new heights. That will include, amongst other things, a new reshaped strategy for URI as a global movement, and new means of communication that will put us in the spotlight of the world. We want to increase the help we bring to the Cooperations Circles, increase our connectivity, increase our growth. I know you are supportive, and I know we will do that together.
One thing that would definitely help and is easy to do is the following: Let’s start the year with a “giving campaign”. If you could circulate this call to your friends, family, and business partners, and encourage them to give to URI, that would be fantastic. There are no small gifts. It can start with gifts of one dollar, one dollar monthly, or 10 dollars monthly, and for those who can and want, millions are of course welcome.
But any gift is a blessing for URI, whatever the amount. It’s more than money, it’s support, it’s love, it’s care.
In any case, thank you for all what you do, and please accept my best wishes for 2025, a year that we will make, together, stellar!
