The Chavara Cultural Centre, founded from the name of Chavara Achen by Father Albert Nambiar Parambil, is run by a congregation of priests who manage over 1,200 educational institutions throughout India. This includes medical and engineering colleges, and nursing and management schools. Chavara Centre is the nucleus of interfaith activities in Cochin, running a number of programs related to education and national integration. Members of this Cooperation Circle (CC) support all activities of the World fellowship of Inter- religious Councils meeting at regular intervals. The centre appeals to students, young people and women because it offers a variety of educational programs and training courses, including MBA programs. The centre is situated in Cochin, also known as the “Queen of the Arabian sea.”
