Moreland Together started in late 2016 when their local government area, a thriving diverse community, was specified as a target of a terrorist attack in a call put out by an international terrorist group. The community, comprised of people from faith, government, and local businesses, came together to form MT. While their inspiration for this social justice network is faith-driven, they want to build a united community movement that includes all demographics and voices of the Moreland area in promoting unity and solidarity in their wonderful multicultural community. The core values underscoring this movement include: striving to reflect and counter the systems of discrimination which isolate members of our community, providing an inclusive space where all voices are respected and valued, social justice, hospitality and generosity, and community-building and resource-sharing.
“Our purpose is to build a united community movement that includes all demographics and voices of the Moreland area of Melbourne.”
