There are ten members in this Cooperation Circle (CC) hailing from Hindu, Muslim and Christian traditions. This group draws inspiration from URI ideals, and has translated the URI Charter into Malayalam, the regional language of the area. Paipadu is an area with a large Muslim population and usually has tension regarding Muslim-Hindu relations. As such, members bring together people of all communities and keep vigil to avoid religious clashes. They also participate in the programs organized by the URI Peace Centre—three kilometers away from the CC. Members are inspired by the Centre to undertake peace processions every year. There is also the Sri Ram Krishna Ashram nearby where its inmates are very enthusiastic about this CC’s work.
