Youth

URI respects wisdom from voices of all generations, and prizes a diversity of ages in leadership positions. URI Cooperation Circles work towards equity and fair representation in intergenerational peacebuilding.

Some examples of this work include:

  • in Bosnia and Herzegovina, URI members coordinate volunteering projects for young people to help disadvantaged families in their communities;
  • in India, URI members run schools to educate children from all castes and cultures side by side;
  • in Germany, URI members pair volunteers with refugee children to ease their transition into their new homes;
  • in Korea, a URI youth camp gathers young peacemakers from around the world, with scholarships, on an annual basis; and
  • globally, URI Cooperation Circles connect youth from diverse backgrounds to bridge their differences, to grow as leaders, and to work together for the good of their communities and the world.
