Rio Inter-Religious Movement (MIR) holds monthly meetings. Members of this Cooperation Circle (CC) are aware of the need for a culture of peace and act to strengthen dialogue and respect among different religious traditions and spiritual groups. This CC partners with ISER (Instituto para Estudios Religiosos) and other associations. Members also participate in meetings and work with the government of Rio de Janeiro State through the Secretariat for Social Assistance and Human Rights, where they discuss and develop public policies against religious intolerance, and the Secretariat for the Environment, where they participate in the Managing Council of the State Parks to guarantee the harmony between care for the environment and religious practices. Their most outstanding activities have been:

1. Participation of the Project Brazil Real – discussion about family, environment, media and communications with the participation of 10 religious traditions.
2. Participation in seminars about sexuality and religion at the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro to deal with homophobia among religious groups.
3. Participation with ISER of Degase Program (Department of Educational Policies for Children in Conflict with the Law) to assist youth.
4. Participation in meetings about “Spiritual Predestination in Brazil” with members of various religious traditions.
