Best wishes to everyone on International Women's Day -- we pray for the safety and protection of women everywhere.

The TRUST WIN celebrated International Women's Day with 60 Israeli and Palestinian women - Christian, Jewish, and Muslim - in the Old City of Jerusalem. Organized by Dvora Pearlman of the Jerusalem Hug and the Jerusalem City Al Quds Women's Club, women came from various Israeli women's organizations. Palestinian women came from East Jerusalem neighborhoods. First there was a meeting with a delicious breakfast prepared by the Palestinian women with lots of fresh pita and lebaneh. Women spoke in Hebrew or Arabic with translation.  A paired exercise of women meeting each other quickly created an energy of laughing, hugging, and chatting about their children without need for a shared language. Both Israeli and Palestinian women continually stressed the ability of women to create peace among themselves. Next a tour of the Old City visiting the roof and chapel of the Austrian Hospice on the Via Dolorosa, and then viewpoints overlooking the Holy Sites of the religions -- Churches, the Western Wall, and the Dome of the Rock. The tourists, merchants, and residents watched the group of Palestinian and Israeli women walking and talking together -- demonstrating the sisterhood of women in the midst of the conflict. The Closing included a Circle of Blessings, dancing, and a group Hug!
