URI North America hosted an online seminar on fundraising.

This week URI North America hosted a webinar to share fundraising resources with the URI community and beyond. We hosted three speakers with a wide variety of experience in the fundraising sector.

Danya Wellmon, co-founder of Women Transcending Boundaries Cooperation Circle, talked about how to fund a community organization. Grace Patterson, Director of Global Programs for World Faith, shared her organization's unique position in being funded almost entirely by small gifts ($200 and less). Sue Martin, United Religions Initiative's Director of Development, drew from her 20 years of professional fundraising experience in a variety of nonprofit organizations to share about proven practices from local and global organizations.

The panelists also answered a number of audience questions including " What are the ethics of accepting funding from organisations whose activities may be perceived to be detrimental to the greater good?"and "How do you find new major donors?"
