URI-Africa and local NGOs come together to build better life in Africa

A man is speaking on the microphone
Uganda Vice President Edward Ssekandi speaking against the backdrop of URI's Purpose statement at the URI-Africa meeting.

Living within a reality of dire social problems, cycles of violence, killing, malaria, unemployment, corruption in government,  resilient and creative people from different religions, government officials, military, URI grassroot interfaith groups, social services, and NGOs met to engage one another around the theme: Role of Religion to Build Peace, Security, and Counter VIolent Extremism in Africa.

I was privileged to participate with this positive and energetic mix of people. Join me in sharing this rich experience in a series of blog postings.
