URI's South India Region held several youth programs, as well as a special guest lecture, for International Day of Peace (IDP) this year in Kottarakkara, India.

Our program began in the morning on Friday, September 19. More than 500 children and Cooperation Circle leaders clad marched, with flying doves displayed as a sign of hope. They are asked to take a peace pledge after the peace march.

An inter-school painting contest exploring the horrors of war was held in the afternoon.

As part of our International Day of Peace events, we also held an Alexander Mar Thoma lecture with great Sri Lankan leader Dr. A. T. Ariaratna on Ocotber 2nd. Dr. Ariaratna is a Magsese Award winner and popularly known as the "Sri Lankan Gandhi."
