Choti si Khushi, a URI Cooperation Circle (member group) based in Delhi, India, shares this photo from their children’s performance earlier this month. The children trained under Music Basti, a nonprofit organization that helps children learn life skills and confidence through music. Four months later, they were ready to perform to an appreciative audience at Sri Aurobindo Centre for Arts and Communication.
Cooperation Circle members observed that preparing and rehearsing for the performance took the children to a new educational level. “Giving performances like these boosts their confidence in themselves and in their future,” they wrote.
Choti si Khushi is a community-based, volunteer-driven program to bridge the rising disparity in opportunities for women and children residing in urban slums. Learn more about Choti si Khushi’s work with their community.
