Read news from the URI Horn of Africa General Assembly in Nairobi earlier this month; 11 Cooperation Circles were represented in the assembly and presented their work to participants and URI staff. It was a strong moment for the URI network.

As I listened to President Obama address the nation on last week’s tragedy in San Bernardino, California I was surprised and relieved to hear a call for Americans to become active, as opposed to passive, neighbors to one another in this time of tension.

At a dinner celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, I noticed URI President’s Council member and former United States Secretary of State George Shultz engaged in a conversation with United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon.

Quested Peace Cooperation Circle and Mamoun Ahmad, URI Regional Coordinator, share a report on their participation in an intercultural Training Course on "Collaborative Economy for Youth Work."

Palki Peace Circle is a newly-approved Cooperation Circle of URI from the city of Joy, Kolkata, in the eastern region of URI India. We observed this special day of India independence on the 15th of August among the very needy, underprivileged and orphan children in Lee Collins School, Beleghata.
