The group was originally formed around Islam. However, due to their interest and commitment to inclusive peace-building in Mali, members opened their doors and now they have invited members who are Christians, and Traditional worshipers. Everyone interested in working for peace in Mali is welcomed because interfaith bridge building is needed to foster understanding, peace, and cooperation among diverse religious and cultural communities. It helps address historical tensions, dispel stereotypes, and create a more inclusive and harmonious society while working together to tackle shared challenges.
The activities of AMPS are essentially religious, educational, cultural and social. Together they have built schools for the poor and provided financial assistance to orphans under their jurisdiction. Also, one of their community groups, consisting of local residents and volunteers created a community garden in a neighborhood with limited access to fresh, healthy produce
