Paradigm started in 2006 in Orlando and Kissimmee, Florida. In Florida there are lots of farm workers, and lots of discrimination. The workers would get injured and just give up. People that were injured on the job needed interpreters who would also be allies. Members of this Cooperation Circle got certified as interpreters to respond to such a need. They help people go back to work after a job injury and also help them with medical bills, referrals, and the whole legal process. They are helping them to understand they have rights even if they are undocumented. Their clients began to move around Florida, and so their services expanded. They also encourage clients to learn English, and to go back to school so that they can then get trained to become interpreters for others and give them citizenship classes. They help them with real estate and financial responsibilities, such as how to set up a checking account, home ownership, etc.
