URI Stories of Impact

Dear friends, I feel like I don't have time to write deep thoughts about what it means to me to be a pilgrim with URI as I look forward to being in Mayapur, India for almost two weeks. But , it feels...

 The Trail of Dreams World Peace Walkers invites you to participate with us on Sunday the 21st of September, in a global tree planting ceremony. 

United Nations International Day of Peace: “… a day of global ceasefire and non-violence, an invitation to all nations and people to honor a cessation of hostilities.”

The United Religions Initiative was inaugurated in the year 2000, when representatives of a wide variety of religions from many countries of the world joined in signing the URI Charter, developed over five years of global consultation.

From May 31st to June 20th , I have been called to go on a juice and water fast in preparation for all that is ahead for the Trail of Dreams World Peace Walk. 

As I meditated on the Global Assembly in Rio in 2002 the following memories came to mind…the first image is that of light and laughter...and the sound of Brazilian music….then multiple marvelous shades of green punctuated by rich vibrant color of the landscape as well as the beautiful smiles, faces and colorful clothing of members of the human family from all across the globe. 

In February, the URI Global Youth CC issued the following statement: 

We, members of the Global Youth Cooperation Circle of the United Religions Initiative, wish to express our concern at the current situation in Gaza. Conflict creates hardship and fear for people on both sides and takes its toll on families, young and old and the livelihood of communities and economies. 

The Trail of Dreams Team returns to the USA on it’s final leg of a three and a half year journey around the world – walking for world peace and global transformation

The Trail of Dreams World Peace Walkers invite you to join us on March 20, 2008 at 6pm to celebrate the Spring Equinox with us.

It is difficult to get any media attention for positive news, including Interreligious Dialogue activities.
