Summer is normally the season for recreation and holidays; on the other hand, summer is a good season for public activities. As URI CC we took an active part in the events of Annual celebrating “Day of the City”on June 26, which is always a day of demonstration people’s creativity, folk art, and a lot of fun.

All together we made a Photo Exhibition “Spiritual bridge Altai-India” with some texts commenting the photos, made mostly by the coordinator Galina Ermolina during her spiritual trips in India and Altai (a Russian republic on the southern border with China). We were given a piece of wall to put the Exhibition on, and many people passed the wall on the way to the main stage with non- stop concert on it. Some of the people, passing by were interested and stopped to see the photos and to learn about the International URI organization from us, for some magazines and materials about URI were put beside the Exhibition.

We tried to underline not the differences of both lands in spirituality and culture, but those features which are so close to each other and which unite them. The photos show amazingly beautiful nature, sacred places for worshipping, ceremonies, portraits of people, scenes of every day life and traditional costumes. For the title of the Exhibition we took the words of the great Russian painter and philosopher Nikolai Roerich: “Altai-Himalayas are two poles, two magnets”.
