Dear Sisters and Brothers of URI,

Once again we awake to the news of horrific violence in our world with the brutal attacks in France, Kuwait and Tunisia. We weep for the victims and their families, and cry out again that violence is not a solution to anything, and is reprehensible to people of all religions, spiritual expression and Indigenous traditions. We must stand together in condemning the use of violence and in promoting non-violent conflict transformation. This is at the heart of the Wisdom traditions of the world, and at the heart of URI. On this 15th Anniversary of the founding of URI, let us hear again the words from the preamble of the URI Charter.

“We unite to use our combined resources only for nonviolent, compassionate action, to awaken to our deepest truths, and to manifest love and justice among all life in our Earth community.”

In peace… Victor
