Inspiration for WIHW: The URI Preamble

We, people of diverse religions, spiritual expressions and Indigenous traditions throughout the world, hereby establish the United Religions Initiative to promote enduring, daily interfaith cooperation, end religiously motivated violence, and create cultures of peace, justice and healing for the Earth and all living beings.

This is the opening of the URI Preamble. Read the full Preamble, Purpose and Principles.

“Interfaith is not about religions being the same. Interfaith is about understanding our differences, recognizing our similarities and working together for peace and justice in our world.”

 - Victor Kazanjian, former URI Executive Director
