URI Stories of Impact

Can you guess how many trees URI’s Cooperation Circles have planted in the last three years? 

AFFCAD Cooperation Circle in Uganda organized a health camp to increase access and use of quality, inclusive, and integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights-SRHR and HIV services among vulnerable and young people living in the slums of Kawempe- Uganda.

From October 15 through October 21, URI Leadership (Preeta Bansal (Chair), Kelsey Ramsden (Global Council Trustee), and Jerry White (Executive Director)) visited the Latin America and the Caribbean region. Following are Maria Crespo’s reflections on the visit to Christ the Redeemer statue.

Since its inception, URI has benefited from the knowledge and wisdom of many indigenous sisters and brothers who were essential contributors to URI's design, values, and impact. 

Children and youth are central to URI’s vision, mission, and purpose and are pivotal in URI’s work for a world of peace, co-existence, tolerance, justice, and healing.

Two Cooperation Circles, Choti si Khushi in India and AFFCAD in Uganda are working towards supporting young children in slum communities through designing programs and activities to champion their well-being.

URI has taken actions to amplify the voice and action of women’s initiatives and efforts, create networks for sharing, caring, and connecting with women in different URI regions, foster collaboration, and share educational and resource mobilization opportunities to support women in the network.

Lejla Hasandedic-Dapo, URI Europe CC Liaison Officer and URI Individual Membership Coordinator was invited together with 13 other participants from all over the World to participate at the Deutsche Welle (DW) Academy Train-the-Trainer – Workshop and Individual Coaching for Interfaith & Religious Leaders.

Baraza Cooperation Circle initiated a programme called UNITY. This society-rooted scheme will promote positive values of integration, make participants economic assets by acquiring strong skills for employment or volunteering, and enable them to appreciate equality and diversity in their communities.

Twenty-three participants convened at the Espace Barrault in Paris for an interfaith meeting organized by Dialogue and Alliance Cooperation Circle under the theme: "Leave NO ONE Behind."

Despite the distance and terrain, a team of peacebuilders from Pakigdait Cooperation Circle braved it all to hold a peace dialogue!
