URI Cooperation Circles work at every level, from influencing policymakers to providing training at the grassroots, to build peace, heal existing tensions, and prevent new conflicts.

Examples of our work in this Action Area:

  • EcoPeace/Friends of the Earth Middle East CC gathered Israelis, Jordanians, and Palestinians to join their voices in calling for cooperative restoration efforts in the Jordan River.
  • In Africa, Shalom Ghana CC ended a 10-year feud between Christians and Muslims by getting youth from both sides together to plant trees the village badly needed.
  • After an increase in anti-Muslim hate crimes in California, USA, the Interfaith Council of Contra Costa County CC co-sponsored a "Ring of Solidarity" where over 200 people joined hands around a mosque to show community support for their Muslim neighbors.

PROLIFE INTERFAITH KENYA CC LAUNCHES A COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANISATION AS A POWERFUL TOOL IN COMBATING POVERTY.

Today at Mbale town in Vihiga County,Western Kenya,Prolife Interfaith Kenya CC which is growing very fast saw the launch of its Community-Based Organisation (C.B.O) whose main aim shall be to fight corruption and poverty in the society.

"Along this line, this shall help put all faiths in the communities of Vihiga County together and hence establishing solid peace and co-existence",said its Deputy Director Mrs Moreen Avoga.Mrs Avoga is the CC's newly elected Deputy Director.The immediate former Mr Onesmus Keverenge is now the CC's Executive Secretary.

The new CBO is known as:Maisha Kenya CBO.

Celebration of World Interfaith Harmony Week by PCSW&HR in February 2014

As the UN General Assembly unanimously passed a resolution to observe the World Interfaith Harmony Week annually during the first week of February. During the 1st week of February 2014 the world celebrated 4th world interfaith harmony week throughout the world. Pakistan Council for Social Welfare & Human Rights (PCSW&HR) also actively participated to celebrate the world interfaith harmony week. To celebrate this week PCSW&HR organized various awareness activities.

PCSW&HR's Delegation Participation at SAARC Seminar on Child Rights at Amity University India

Udayan Care an India based NGO working for Orphaned and abandoned children organized a Seminar on Institutionalised Children Standards of Care and Mental Health at Amity University Noida – New Delhi India from 14 -15 March 2014 with the collaboration of different multinational companies. Around 100 of delegates from SAARC countries including Pakistan and others countries in which Australia, UK participated in the seminar. A three member’s delegation of Pakistan Council for Social Welfare & Human Rights (PCSW&HR) headed by Mr. Muhammad Ijaz Noori Chairman PCSW&HR also participated in the said seminar. Mr. Tahir Mehmood Hundli Advocate Ex- Member Provincial Assembly Punjab and Mr. Mansoor Ahmed Executive Director PCSW&HR were also part of PCSW&HR delegation who participated in the seminar at Amity University Noida New Delhi India.
